Growth Mindset Ideas
Trust your instincts.
We all have dreams. We all have fears. Outcomes of our lives stand poles apart based on what we chose to give in.
Giving way to our fears —> Comfort zone. Maintaining the status quo.
Giving way to our dreams —> Outside comfort zone. Challenging the status quo.
Success and growth happens when we go out of comfort zone, challenge the status quo, and create a new reality from our dreams. And to go out of comfort zone you need to trust your instincts. Because if you don’t, you’ll seek others to confirm your fears based on their own biases. Also your instincts are not guess work. Remember how some surroundings, smells, lights can make you feel aware, safe, unsafe, happy, sad, or scared? That’s your brain recalling experiences from the past. Instincts are based on relevant experiences. It gets better as you use it.
Acting based on your instincts can lead to two things,
1. Achieving the results you were hoping for —> Confirming the instincts. Boost in confidence. New learning.
2. Not achieving the results you were hoping for —> Learning what part of out thinking wasn't correct. Why? New learning.
Either way trusting your instincts leads to new learning.
Life lessons that you can’t afford to ignore
Fear is useless.
Fearless should not even be a word. No one really is without a fear. What differentiates people who seem fearless have chosen courage over their fears.
Everyone is scared of something. Fear of failure, rejection, being laughed at, loneliness, being judged, or fear of losing something valuable. Rich, poor, strong, weak, powerful, intellectuals, good all have fears.
Fear is always there. Fear runs deep, fight or flight radar of our ancestors kept them alive. While writing this I am scared of people laughing at my idea of non-existence of word 'fearless'.
Fear doesn’t really go away. But if fear is not going to go away, we going away from it doesn't make sense. It is not easy. But it is possible. Chose courage over your fears.
