High Performance Mindset: Innate Talent or Efforts?
I've had many Talent vs Efforts conversations in a personal and a professional context. It is a multifaceted topic. I was recently talking to a Chief Marketing Officer of a personal care company where this topic came up during her team performance. Driven, ambitious leader recently taken over the role in a new industry. Her aim is to uplift the performance of a whole team.
In a conversation I asked her about her beliefs about the team's current performance. And that's what led us to questioning Talent vs Efforts.
Is success a result of Innate ability or efforts & hard-work?
When you are an athlete the answer often seems to incline towards natural ability to do somethings better than others. Like height, strength, stamina gives a good head start for you winning the game. However, greatest of athletes can not do away with the hard work and practice. No amount of talent can make you succeed if you don't make efforts towards achieving your goals.
If you are a leader emphasize effort over innate ability to level up the teams performance. Help 'all' team members to put equal and rigorous efforts towards the goal than to focus on results from a talented few.
Success =Skills X Efforts
Success comes from effort and hard work, rather than innate ability.
High performing individuals and teams emphasize on efforts over innate ability. #HighPerformanceMindset
