Adventure is Not for Everyone
you must like uncertainty to embrace adventures. Can you see water fountains as an art? Why talk to taxi drivers. And a mindset shift to turn adversities into advantages.
Growth Mindset Ideas
Adversity to Adventure to Advantage Mindset.
To travel is to live, to travel is to learn.
Experiences and learnings as a kid affects a lot on how you handle things growing up. For me, travel was a big part of my childhood. Getting transferred to a new location was a big part of Dad’s job, spending time at my grandparents every summer, and big festivals was a ritual. It doesn’t sound much, but it felt much to a kid back then.
One thing that I remembered most about my childhood travel was, it always takes more time than expected ;)
Last week on our way back from a very long journey from Paris to New York, our flight got cancelled for the last leg of a travel. It wouldn’t have scared me if I was traveling alone, but its a whole different story when I travel with a kid. Optimist in me started telling kid how it could be wonderful to have a chance to spend a night in London. To my surprise kid got excited with an idea, and we made a plan for a nice night out in London. With our day starting at 3:30 AM in Paris and two flights later in London, we all were exhausted.
All the exhaustion slipped away with our adventure to explore London that night. We were still exhausted at the end of our trip, but we were also extremely happy.
If it is unavoidable why not learn to enjoy it?
To learn and experience new ways of being accept things outside of your control and your comfort zone. And world will never stop to surprise you in a pleasant way. #AdventureMindset
Life lessons that you can’t afford to ignore
Talk to Taxi Drivers.
You are either a person who likes to talk to cab drivers or who don’t. I fall in category one, I like to talk to cab drivers. For two reasons, one, it is the fastest way to learn more about a new city and two, it also keeps them away from being on phone and focus more on driving.
For a business travel which usually starts early in the morning or late night, it also makes sure your driver is not sleepy.
In my many travels, its because of talking to cab drivers I’ve tasted best local food, seen beautiful places, shopped at best places while saving money, and overall enjoyed navigating a new city.
All the things that make you either like a new city or not.
So if you haven’t tried talking and learning from cab drivers about a new city you visit, I insist you do it in your next trip.
Why?
They know everything about the city. They can be a better source than internet to know about best places to eat, shop, hang out, or avoid.
You learn faster about a new city, new culture, and better ways to navigate a new place.
They have the most interesting takes on politics, tourists, food, and every other topic under the sun. If not anything, you’ll have an interesting conversation.
Cab drivers have most bizarre yet interesting stories. Local legends, tourists, politics, and even about local ghosts and monsters.
Its beautiful to connect and talk with other humans.

Whenever I visit a new city I like to observe the public infrastructure. You would’ve heard many times Paris is the most beautiful city, no wonder because they treat even their water fountains as a piece of art
